My wife and I had a lovely time at the Blue Ridge Abbey. While there were many updates- especially the beautiful bathroom - we felt like we had stepped back in time to the 1920’s. Great service and tasty breakfast - surrounded by beautiful mountains made our stay well worth the trip!

I had a wonderful time at Blue Ridge Abbey bed and breakfast! The rooms were very nice and had everything we needed, very clean, organized and updated and had plenty of room for me and my friends! Also the breakfast was delicious and the area felt very safe and comfortable, a quiet and friendly small town! I would recommend and I would stay here again!

Phenomenal service! I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for that break from the busy corporate world and city life. Everything you need is less than a 15 minute drive, the town has so many small businesses that are within walking distances and everyone is super friendly. There are numerous hiking trails and waterfalls near by that make this the perfect headquarters. You get to explore without the crowds and come back with no traffic. If you prefer the sedentary life style they also have it, the porch has a beautiful swing where you can spend hours reading, watching the cars go and nap as well. You feel safe and comfortable. Highly recommended to anyone wanting a break and looking for a getaway.

We had a wonderful stay and were extremely pleased with everything. The home was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together. One of our favorite things was the beautiful blend of modern updates and classic charm—it gave the space so much character while still feeling fresh and inviting. It was clear that a lot of care went into every detail. The host was welcoming and communicative, making our stay even more enjoyable. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing place to stay.

The location was very quant and very close to Lexington. Breakfast was made to order and very well executed….we all enjoyed it immensely. The beautiful wrap around porch was cool with a breeze. A nice place to share a glass of wine, good conversation or a delicious breakfast.

Blue Ridge Abbey provides an excellent base for exploring this part of the Blue Ridge. This is a large Victorian home, nicely appointed to imagine time travel to an earlier America. Brooke and Mason were excellent hosts and I plan to return with my wife sometime soon.

Everything about this stay was awesome. The room, bed, and common areas were nicely preserved or of good quality purchase. Bathrooms are modern but somehow fit in just fine. Breakfast was delicious and on time. Host was hospitable and had breakfast with us. Good opportunity to learn the area. Appreciate your hard work!

I rarely leave reviews but this place was too great to not say something. My husband and I stayed at the Blue Ridge Abbey a few days for a wedding. Lovely room and building, delicious and locally sourced breakfast, quiet and wonderful location minutes from the parkway, and a super welcoming and responsive host made for a great experience. Highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

Gorgeous, tastefully renovated home to maintain the historic beauty! My fiance and I stayed in the Primrose room that is decorated with floral/rose and blush accents. It had an extremely comfy king bed, luxurious modern bathroom, large TV, and amazing AC! I highly recommend staying at Blue Ridge Abbey since you get to step into the past without sacrificing modern comfort! It is hard to find a true bed and breakfast these days which adds to the charm of this stay. The small city of Buena Vista is quiet and beautiful. You are close to many nearby cities and nature activities which makes the Blue Ridge Abbey the perfect location!

Gluten and dairy free friendly!!!! I’m allergic to gluten and dairy so bed and breakfasts are always bed and apple for me because pancakes and waffles are out of the question. Not here! Everything on the menu can be made gluten and dairy free. Infact the owner and the owners family are gluten and dairy free. Everyone is so kind and the rooms are beautiful. You get the rustic feel with modern amenities! Next time I’m here I will be back for sure.

While visiting from Michigan we stayed at the Blue Ridge Abbey for three nights. The property features a stunning 1890s main house with its original interior and a cozy wrap-around porch. We stayed in the old guest house (the carriage house), where our two rooms were exceptionally clean with excellent hot water and water pressure. If you travel with dogs, this is the ultimate spot. While the main house preserves its historic structure, the converted carriage house units are completely pet-friendly. It is the perfect base for exploring the area, including the nearby Paxton House plantation and the beautiful campuses of VMI and Washington & Lee Universities in neighboring Lexington as well as all the other beauty of the Shenandoah valley.

Spent the weekend here for our daughter’s graduation. The front porch alone was worth the cost of the stay. Enjoyed the beautiful old Victorian.

The location was wonderful. The front porch was perfect for evening cocktail or morning coffee. Beautifully maintained Victorian home with period pieces. Host was attentive and gracious. We rented the whole place and felt like we had stepped back in time. Also, Mounain Roots restaurant and Nick’s family Italian are must eats.

I was in Buena Vista to attend a graduation from SVU. I thought I would spoil myself while there and stay just a few blocks from the school. It was really awesome to stay in a 1903 Victorian house with many of the original furnishings. The host, Daniel, is fantastic. He gave me a tour of the house and was easy to contact for any questions. In addition to my lovely room and modern bathroom, there is a dining room with access to hot drinks or milk and even cereal 24/7. Each morning’s breakfast was homemade deliciousness. And he even made me a breakfast to go- biscuit w/ bacon, egg, cheese- not even on the menu, for when I needed to leave early. There is also an open parlor for visiting as well as a large front porch. I will definitely be staying there again!

Meticulously restored Victorian home! It’s worth it, just for the grand staircase! Daniel, our host, was very friendly, professional, and went out of his way to make sure our stay was wonderful!

Charming, peaceful and very comfortable. Live in an exceptionally well maintained 1900 family house with the amenities of a modern hotel. Perfect location for a retreat, a relaxing vacation or a hiking resting hub. The service is most pleasant and accommodating. If I come back to this beautiful area, I would definitely stay here.

We had a great stay at Blue Ridge Abbey! The restored Victorian home retains all the charm of the original home, with updated features (heated bathroom floors!) When you walk through the house, you feel like you are walking back in time. The room we stayed in was much bigger than most we have stayed in, and the bed was very comfortable . Even though we stayed in early March and couldn’t take advantage of it, the wrap around porch looks so inviting to sit and watch the day go by. Maybe next time we stay… We would definitely recommend Blue Ridge Abbey to anyone to any one passing thru or as a destination for a quiet time in a small town.

This perfectly done bed and breakfast is so worth the stay!! The rooms, the whole house, the amenities were beautifully done, and gave us the comfort and luxury we wanted for this Valentines weekend! There was quick morning coffee with a dark roast that I prefer, cereal and milk for the kids, honey for my guy’s coffee, and delightful morning blueberry bread for our last morning. The shower was spacious, clean, and the water was HOT!! Loved it! They provided body wash, shampoo, and conditioner that all smelt so lovely it was like spa day every shower. The drawing room was romantic and made for a wonderful Valentine photo shoot. It was too cool to really enjoy the sprawling front porch, but I can just imagine warm spring evenings with tea and conversation. The whole neighborhood surrounding the abbey is quiet , quaint, and quality! We didn’t get to spend too much time in town, but chose to drive the short 15 minutes to Lexington and enjoyed the art galleries, the cafes, and the restaurants. Definitely stay here!!

Blue Ridge Abbey is a beautifully renovated Victorian home with a welcoming wrap around porch, beautiful furnishings, large comfortable rooms with pristine clean modern bathrooms. The owner, Daniel, greeted us after our late check in, made sure we had everything we needed and was very welcoming to our dog. We enjoyed getting to know him over breakfast.
